I began my journey in Integrative Health in 2012 in Energy Medicine being hospital trained as a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, which is a nurse-based energy modality.
In 2016, the hospital where I was working asked me to immerse myself and learn another energy healing modality so that I could work with inpatients as well as outpatients so I became a Reiki Master, which is my favorite energy healing modality! Since then, I have also been doing Sound Healing as a therapeutic drummer being a part of the group, “The Sacred Healing Drums”, and a facilitator of Healing Circles working in cancer centers and in private practice.
I have also had the opportunity to provide Energy Medicine to residents at half way houses for drug and alcohol addiction and at dementia and Alzheimer’s units while presenting energy medicine workshops for hospital support groups and integrative health networks in my area.
My adage, these days is “the more I learn, the less I know!” I have always understood the importance of Integrative Health and Medicine in that traditional Western medicine and complementary medicine work together in the healing of body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki Energy Medicine is an ancient healing technique producing a deep relaxation in the body activating the natural healing process. Deep relaxation reduces stress that affects the flow of energy in the body causing blocks along pathways making illness and disease more susceptible to occur.
Reiki addresses the whole-body mind connection focusing on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual state of the body.
It is a complementary therapy that is to be used in conjunction with standard medical care.

Reiki is a healing modality that uses gentle, light touch, to channel “Ki”, universal life force energy, to clear blockages and restore normal energy flow for healing and general well-being. When energy flow is balanced and restored, the perfect environment is created for healing. The Reiki practitioner is a conduit of this vibrational flow of “Ki” universal life force energy and is not doing the actual healing. There is never any energy taken from the practitioner and he or she does not take on any energy from the client or patient.
Reiki can be found in hospitals across the United States and abroad, including operating rooms , intensive care, cancer centers, nursing homes, assisted living, and hospice. Because it is so gentle and safe, even the most fragile person can benefit from Reiki. Many hospitals have their own integrative medicine departments where Reiki is a popular healing modality among patients.
Today, ancient cultures, researchers, and practitioners are confirming that the flow of energy in the body or lack of, and the use of energy therapies such as Reiki can activate the natural healing process in the body. Reiki produces a deep relaxation in the body allowing the body to do what it was meant to do, heal itself.
